September 2021 New Starters
We are very excited to announce 2 events we have lined up for you.
Tuesday 22nd June – 4:30pm Parents Meeting. This is for parents of new starters to come and meet the staff, tour the school and we will answer any questions you may have.
Wednesday 7th July – 1:30pm Transition afternoon. This a great opportunity for children to familiarise themselves with the school environment, meet their teacher and make some new friends. Parents are invited to join us from 2:45pm for a picnic on the field.
We know starting school can seem daunting for both children and their parents but hopefully these events will help prepare you and your child for their school journey. If you have any questions then please feel free to email us on firstname.lastname@example.org, we are more than happy to help. Don’t forget to follow us on facebook and twitter to see what exciting experiences your child has to look forward to.

School Tour Video- term 6 2020
Unfortunately, due to the COVID19 restrictions last summer, we were unable to undertake our usual activities to help our new starters with the transition to school. We have kept the video tour up to familiarise families with our learning environment and we look forward to welcoming you, in person.
Children at Pawlett Primary School Academy are expected to wear the school uniform which is red, grey and white. We believe that by wearing uniform the children develop a sense of pride in and identify with their school. We encourage all children to look smart during their time at school. All uniform with a school logo on can be purchased from www.nkgroupuk.com.
Boys: Red sweatshirt with school logo, White polo shirt, Grey trousers (long or short)
Girls: Red sweatshirt/ cardigan with school logo, White polo shirt, Grey pinafore dress/ grey skirt/grey trousers (long or short), Summer dress in red & white check.
P.E: Red T-shirt with the school logo, Black shorts, Black daps/trainers (This should all be kept in a named P.E. bag). PE bags are kept in school and are returned at the end of every half term for washing.
All children will also need a school book bag which will go home at the end of every day.
Black shoes in a sensible style (no trainers or long boots) should be worn. They should have an appropriate style heel which allows children to walk and run in school safely.
Children should always have an appropriate coat and are encouraged to wear a sun hat during the summer months. Children are not allowed to wear jewellery to school in case it gets lost or damaged. If your child’s hair is longer than shoulder length it should be tied up at all times. Children do not need to bring in any other items from home, all stationary will be provided. We also request that any treasured soft toys or favourite toys are left at home to prevent them getting damaged or lost.
All items of uniform, including shoes, should be labelled with your child’s name to prevent them getting lost or misplaced.
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are able to receive free Universal School Meals. These meals are provided by Pabulum catering at The King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge. The menu is provided on a 3 weekly basis and parents are asked to discuss and complete a menu with their child. Due to the current circumstances regarding COVID-19 we may initially be providing packed lunches until our provider resumes operations. Your child will have a choice of sandwich filling, along with fresh fruit, yogurt and a snack.
Children will need to bring in their own labelled drinking bottles every day, filled with water only.
Your child will receive free milk under the government under 5’s scheme which they are given at morning break time when they will also have the opportunity to choose a fruit snack.
Where possible we try to email parent letters. Therefore we do ask that we have an up to date email address for every family and that the account is checked regularly. We also send out a fortnightly newsletter with latest news from the school via email.
Occasionally we do need to print letters out to go home. These will be sent home in your child’s book bag.
